PUERTO PRINCESA, PALAWAN

Hi my Nomadic Traveler Friends!

Today's travel guide, we hop on to the sunny island of PUERTO PRINCESA, PALAWAN, PHILIPPINES!!!

Philippines is a country consisting of 7,107 islands (low tide), geographically divided into 3 main islands as Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

And our destination for today, we are heading to the western Visayas area. Palawan is a popular tourist destination boasting it's clear beaches and abundant fresh seafood.

ENTER PALAWAN

Fly to Palawan via any local airline. You will arrive at Puerto Princesa International Airport.

Traverse the seven seas and you will arrive to the Port of Puerto Princesa.

Mode of transportation in Palawan are mainly tricycles, jeepneys and vans for hire.

SLEEP WHERE?

Being one of the top tourist destinations, Palawan has many beach resorts, hotels and inns for guests to stay. I travelled with my bestfriend and boyfriend and we stayed at DEEP FOREST GARDEN INN located somewhere in the forest thus the name but it's only 5min drive from the airport. We stayed there for 4D3N. A very cozy place. And they provide each room with an umbrella in case of rain just like what happened during our last night in Palawan. They also provide free wifi! Yey!!!
THE APPLE PIE. A VERY MUST TRY IN THE INN. I LOVE THIS PIE! SO YUMMY!!!
FREE WIFI..

WHAT TO DO? WHERE TO GO?

Puerto Princesa has a lot of things to offer and places to go.

On our Day 1, we went on a half day city tour since we arrived at the hotel at about 10am. Our rooms were not yet ready. So we had lunch there first and then book a city tour for the afternoon. Places covered were:

Plaza Cuartel where in history it was a garrison where Japanese soldiers burned the American prisoners of war inside a tunnel. Very grim! The tunnel is however close to public.
We visited their own version of Baywalk. Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Crocodile Farm. Mitra's Ranch. Bakers Hill & the Iwahig Prison & Penal Farm.

WELCOME TO PUERTO PRINCESA, PALAWAN. BRUNCH AT DEEP FOREST GARDEN INN.
CROCODILE FARM

While on tour, I wasn't quite feeling well. Guess I had too much to eat and my tummy was becoming more violent. Awww I was in pain!!! At the last leg of our tour I couldn't take it anymore. I had to sleep my pain away. I couldn't even walk properly. I just wanna head back to the inn and rest. My bestfriend had to drop off to the city to get me some meds.

Back to the hotel, i dropped the bomb! Foul! My goodness! My bestfriend came back with the meds and I took them and went to sleep. Bff & Bf stayed outside for a while and chitchat while waiting for the air in our room to be cleared.

I am never gonna indulge so much ever again! Hahaha.. Next time, I'm gonna bring some charcoal meds. Knowing me, I can't say NO to good food!

Day 2. We woke up to a beautiful morning. And my tummy is feeling a way lot better. Bf kept telling me don't eat so much. Hahaha.. So the entire day we spent it doing the Honda Bay Tour. Luckily, it was not so hot. BF hates hot weather. We went on snorkeling, I went for a massage, BF didn't want me to go sun tanning, the tour provided us with lunch at the beach. It was a fun day.
HONDA BAY ISLAND TOUR
MR KRABBY PATTY

Upon going to Honda Bay Island, the tour guide will stop at this for-rent gears. So you can rent snorkelers and the shoes i think the snorkelers costs PHP150 and the shoes PHP150. Return them once the tour is done.

Day 3. We were supposed to go to Irawan Eco Adventure. BUT there seems to be a problem with our transport. So we ended up canceling the tour and stayed in the hotel the entire day. Which was probably a good decision because that late afternoon it was raining and raining heavily at night.

The famed underground river is located at Sabang, 2 hours away from Puerto Princesa. We were suppose to go there as it was the main purpose of the trip BUT sad to say we didn't make it there. Unfortunately, there was a new rule regarding the visit. You have to BOOK THE UNDERGROUND TOUR 2 MONTHS IN ADVANCE!!! That's because, since the Underground River has made it to the list of 7 wonders of Nature. Thus the government has issued a limited slots to visit the Underground Cave. Slots of 900 pax per day!!! And yet for that 900 pax, there was no room for us! Fudgingly disappointed yes we were! My BFF however has been there so she was fine. But for me and BF it was horrible. Anyways, that's another reason to visit Palawan back again.

As for nightlife, we didn't explore much as we were kinda tired. Plus it's quite difficult to get a trike.

So expenses for this 4D3N trip:

Accommodation: 4D3N (2 deluxe rooms) SGD 395.59 or PHP 13, 821.78
(Booking was made through Agoda Philippines.)
Return Trip Airfare: Cebu-Palawan PHP 10,575.36
Tours: PHP 1,940.00/pax x3 = PHP 5,820.00
Food: estimated PHP 3,000.00 (we eat big! Don't judge!)

Total Pocket Damage for 3 pax: PHP 33,217.14

Other Tour Rates:
Underground River Tour : PHP 1,540.00
Honda Bay Island Tour   : PHP 1,340.00
Firefly Watching Tour     : PHP 1,100.00
Dolphin Watching Tour   : PHP 1,100.00
Whale Shark Watching    : PHP 1,700.00
Dos Palmas Day Tour      : PHP 2,500.00
City Tour (half day only) : PHP 600.00
Tubbataha Reef Diving    : PHP 3,000.00

It's not a really on the budget trip. But I guess you guys can lower down the expenses by checking-in at cheaper hotels. Check Agoda Philippines for discounted hotel rates. Or if you know anybody staying in Palawan, maybe you can crash in with them.

Other than that, just enjoy your vacation! Chill and unwind.. And don't forget to book the Underground River Tour 2 MONTHS ahead of time! Plan ahead.

BANGKOK, THAILAND

Hello my Nomad Travelers!!!

Today's travel guide, we're going to BANGKOK, THAILAND!!!

BKK BOUND FLIGHT via SIA.
I have been to Bangkok thrice and on all occasion I travelled on an "ALL EXPENSE PAID TRIP" by the company. It was actually for our annual company retreat.

One of the best times in the year, aside from our annual bonus is the company retreat. Every year, we go out of the country and enjoy ourselves for 3 days or more if you wish to extend. My first trip to Bangkok was in 2007 followed by Phuket in 2008 and then back to Bangkok again in 2009, come 2010 the company went to Shenzhen, China and 2011 back to good ol' Bangkok! Yep! You might say we are lucky but honestly, really, we freaking deserve our trips for the entire year's hard labor.

Anyways, the highlight of the trip for BKK (Bangkok) is shopping, shopping and more shopping!!! I'd say, it's probably like the shopping capital of Asia coz it's so cheap there!

Okays!

TOUCHDOWN

Suvarnabhumi International Airport. You'll be amazed by how huge their airport is. We were fetched by our buses. But for those of you who's not in group tours you can always hire a taxi to bring you to your destination. Or perhaps the best thing is ask your booked hotel for airport transfers. Makes life easier.
BANGKOK AS SEEN

WHERE TO KNOCK OFF?!

In 2007 we stayed in The Baiyoke Sky Hotel. Thailand's tallest hotel. The rooms were fantastic. As for the views, well, you can clearly see BKK. For me there's nothing so scenic unless it's the view of the ocean, sunrise, sunset. Breakfast is located at 76th & 78th floors. Pretty high!

I kinda don't have pictures from my first trip to BKK and of Baiyoke Sky Hotel. All of my pictures from this my first travel was posted in Friendster which sadly before I abandoned that social media I didn't grab any of my trips. Sorry.

But rest assured Baiyoke is a nice place to stay.

In 2009 & 2011 we stayed in Amari Watergate Hotel. The rooms were totally awesome! And the best part about this location??? It was just right in front of Platinum Mall where you can shop till you drop!!! Okays. On my 2009 BKK trip I've loads of pictures for this.
Back in 2009, we had a pajama party! The boys except for Irwan all went out. Wan's part of the sisterhood!

A MUST TRY

FOOD. Visiting BKK, it is a must try to eat their gastronomic grubs!

PHAD THAI
GREEN MANGO SALAD (My favorite!)
PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE (My favorite!)

FRESH SPRING ROLLS
MANGO STICKY RICE. A MUST TRY FOR DESSERT

ACTUALLY, I FORGOT WHAT THEY CALL THIS.
POMELO SALAD

TOM YAM SOUP
I FORGOT WHAT ARE THESE.

DESSERT. Something like Kuay.
PRAWNS.

DEEP FRIED FISH
KANGKONG.

PRAWNS IN OYSTER SAUCE
BIRDS NEST SOUP (expensive stuff!)

DINNER AT THE SUPATRA RIVER HOUSE
WHAT TO DO?!

MASSAGE. Every trip we go, wherever it may be especially in Thailand, we always head first to any MASSAGE PARLOR!!! I just love Thai massage! For 250BHT-300BHT you will get 2hrs massage! Heavennnnnn!!! The first I went there, I went for massage.
BACK IN 2009 BKK TRIP

SHOPPING. Bangkok is crammed with small barter trade like stalls with many stuffs from clothing to trinkets to bags to shoes to food and a whole lot more! Just make sure you put your cash somewhere safe. The streets can get pretty crowded. You can get the price lowered down. Bargain as much as you can!

Aside from outside shopping, they also have malls. You can bargain here as well. Luckily for us, be it if we stay in Baiyoke or Amari, Platinum mall is just a walk away!
2009 BKK SHOPPING
2009 BKK SHOPPING

In 2011, I did minimal shopping only. And I was alone doing my shopping so no photos of 2011 shopping spree. Same goes to 2007, I did not go shopping at all. I don't really like to shop.

Other shopping places would be the Patpong Night Market and Chatuchak (if I spelled it correctly).

PATPONG. Patpong is a place in Bangkok which equals to Red Light District. I only went there once, back in 2007 and never step foot in that place again even with my 2 trips returning to BKK. Here's how it went.

Back in 2007, my colleagues being curious wanted to see Patpong. See the "Aqua" show and whatever. So I went with them. Anyways, our initial plan was to go to Patpong Night Market and do some night shopping. Patpong Night Market is located in the center of the street surrounded by night clubs. I didn't know that the area was the Red Light District. So we took a cab. This cab driver, gave us this A4 size card saying that it's the "Patpong Menu". OMG! Hahaha... The card was actually the menu of girls that you'd probably want or don't want to see. And he kept on talking about how they can open beer with their vaginas and stuff. Excuse for this experience. I am just sharing this whole Patpong experience to you my friends.

Anyways, once we reached Patpong, there's this guy who straightaway opened the door for us and kept telling us to go there and here and saying that this club has girls that can do this and that. Beautiful girls and blah blah blah... Honestly, we were not interested. But he kept on pestering us! So my manager gave him some cash and told him to go away. We had about 5 peaceful minutes and then he came back again pestering us. So we ended up entering this empty night club with girls dancing naked. Uhmmm... I can appreciate any types of body in any way, but seriously, if you are in that kind of industry, your body is your source of income, I think it is safe to say that you best take care of your body. Am I right to say that??? Anyways, yes, naked girls dancing. But instead of my guy friends getting excited, they got pretty much disgusted. They were old women with sagging breasts and a body of a woman who gave birth 5 times! I'm sorry to say.

Anyways, we immediately went out and then we found a much more appropriate bar to stay and have some drinks. Mind you people, when going for drinks in Thailand, and I mean anywhere in Thailand, you have to pay for the ice! They'll cost you 20BHT. We find it totally weird. Why do we have to pay for the ice??? But, 20BHT is so cheap so we paid anyways. After some drinks, we went back to the hotel.

Thai people they're very nice. Friendly. Helpful. I like them actually. And they speak so soft.

That was my Patpong experience. Well, do I want to go back there again? Uhmmm.. Maybe? Maybe not. It's not really a place for women. There were a lot of caucasian males there though. And frankly, Patpong is not just all about 100% women but it's also a place for "Lady Boys" and there's loads of them there believe me! You wont even know that they're lady boys coz they're so friggin beautiful! Pretty than a real woman. Just don't let them speak. Hahaha...

CLUBBING. For some serious clubbing in BKK, head down to RCA! It's this huge massive complex filled with party goers. I was so amazed by this club. Nothing like the clubs in Singapore. And ofcourse, alcohol was F.O.C for us!!! Company sponsored drinking. Hahaha... We were handed coupons to collect whatever we want. Upon arrival at RCA we were lead to our tables with booze already waiting for us! 2011 I went back to the hotel totally drunk! In the still moving cab, I opened the door and puked my guts out.. That was horrible. But, I didn't have any hangover and that was amazing!
2011 BKK TRIP
2009 BKK TRIP

GO WHERE?!

When in BKK it is not only the shopping and the exotic night life that you should be going, there are a whole lot more of places to visit. Pop by the following places and get a good look at Thailand's colorful history, sights and sounds. Click on the provided links for more information.

The Grand Palace           The City Pillar Shrine                  King Prajadhipok Museum
Sanam Luang                 Bangkok Dolls & Museum          Chinatown
Siam Niramit                  Vimanmek Mansion Museum

Much of my 3x travel to BKK was so time limited. Since it was a company retreat, our free and easy time would be after check in on the 1st day and before 5pm the 2nd day.

BKK weather is so hot and humid. Shopping malls were haven for us! Most of us were drunk on both 1st & 2nd night.. And while on the way back to Singapore, most were having bad hangovers. Touchdown Singapore and it's back to reality.

But I enjoyed every trip to BKK. Such colorful cultures they have be it traditional or the new exotic ones. BKK is moving forward now. For some fun ride, hop on their tuk-tuk's and have a tour around the city.

Some tips for first time travelers to Thailand.

  • Avoid buying anything in Thailand Duty Free. Last 2011, we were alerted by our travel agency of the scams that has been going on there. That was 2 years ago. I don't know if it's still on going now. But just be safe.
  • Bring loads of SUNSCREEN protection. BKK is so hot and humid. You will get burned if you keep on walking under the hot sun.
  • Learn the art of bargain. But bargain nicely. Most retail prices in Thailand are marked up high because it is somehow like a culture there that any shoppers be it local or foreigners will bargain down the price. If they refuse your price, walk away. They will call you back and agree to the price that you want.
  • Be wary of where you put your cash. Always keep your cash in a safe pocket or belt bag or wherever you feel that is safe.
  • For guys: PROTECTION. It is a must if you are ever gonna visit the Red Light District or bring any Thai girl back to your hotel for that matter. Stay safe.
  • Plan ahead your itinerary. Or better yet, join an organized group tour. Beware of scammers.
  • Don't talk to strangers. If you need to ask directions, ask from a security guard or police if you see one. Sometimes, people will scam you if you look like a lost wanderer. Pointing you to places you might not want to go.
  • Leave your passport to your hotel's safe box. Carry a photocopy of your passport.
  • Drink lots of water. Hydrate yourself. Like I said, BKK is hot and humid.
  • RESPECT their culture. You are visiting their country after all. You are not in your country's soil.

There you go! Hope that you got some ideas from here if you ever want to visit Bangkok (BKK). Stay safe and have a happy journey!

THE NOMAD TRAVELS TO: PHUKET, THAILAND

Hello my Nomad Traveler Friends!!!

Sawadeeeeee!! Today, we head over to the famous PHUKET, THAILAND!!!

The first time I've been to Thailand was in 2008. 4 years after the tsunami hit the island. Spent 3days 2nights there. It was a company trip which means, it was an ALL EXPENSE PAID TRIP! So let me guide you around Phuket..

MODE OF TRANSPORTATION

You will arrive at Phuket International Airport 45km away from the famed Patong Beach of Phuket that's 45min to an hour drive. So when visiting Phuket make sure to ask for a airport transfers from your hotel. It's gonna be quite a distance of travel.

Our company has arranged a bus for us. If however you do not have any airport transfers arranged, fear not! Taxi's are everywhere in the airport. Take a taxi to Patong (our destination) for BHT600 and straight to your hotel.
Taken from Google Map. Just a guide for you my friends on how far is the airport to the famous Patong area.

KNOCK OFF WHERE

We stayed at the Millenium Resort. The place was very much near Patong Beach which is literally just 5 minutes walk! Just beside the hotel is the Jungceylon Shopping Center. The hotel is right in the heart of Patong so all you have to do when you're exploring is to just walk!

Patong Beach is famous for their 3.5km beach and nightlife. Their are alot of hotels surrounding Patong so just take a pick of where you want to stay. Patong has a lot of shopping sights. Just walk around.

So my day started when on the way to our hotel, we were taken to the GO-KART SPEEDWAY at Songkram Road, Kathu, Phuket. It was in the middle of the day. So freaking hot! I love go karts, but I did not try the go-kart coz it was extremely hot there. My friends they had a good time. After our Go-kart session we were taken to the hotel. Finally!

Once arrived at the hotel, the staff gave us refreshments while we were waiting for our room keys. And they handed us that really cold towel and it was so refreshing! Once we reached our room, we were greeted with an amazing overview of Patong! The hotel was definitely nice and comfy! The bed was heaven! Tired we may be but we only have 3 days so we went out and did our exploring.

NIGHTLIFE

Nightlife is centered in 2 places, BANGLA ROAD and the PARADISE COMPLEX with bars lining up all over the place. Prostitution is illegal in Thailand but is tolerated in the case of Patong especially in Bangla Road where a lot of foreigners hang out. Beware though. Not all pretty ladies are real. You might end up with a lady boy. But somehow, I guess some foreigners don't seem to mind. When I was there exploring the place, I saw a lot of them lady boys there walking around in tow were foreigners particularly Whites. Anyways, just beware though.

WHAT TO DO

Most people, they go to Thailand for shopping. And admit it. Thailand shopping is so damn cheap that you just cant seem to get enough! Some of my friends they went out for shopping while me and other friends we straightaway head to the famous Patong Beach and was just lounging there. Of course, getting a henna tattoo was a pretty cool thing. They also have water sports for a fee.

Parasailing is a must try. Kinda scary at first if you look at it but it's so much fun!

Do some island hopping! They have island tours which you can avail from your hotel or outside your hotel were many small offices just like s stall something like that where you can book your island tours.

Nightlife at Bangla Road. They have their own version of Hollywood.

Cabarets! Very entertaining.. Visit the Simon Cabaret Show.

Go to Chalong, south of Phuket to visit their temple.

It was just too bad for me that on the second day I got sick. Really sick. I was vomiting. My head felt like exploding. Probably because of too much sun I had the entire day. I can't say much if it's about the food as well coz we all had about the same food. But while we were having dinner that night for our DND party I just can't take it. I missed the cabaret show because I was sleeping at our table. I wasn't able to eat anything from that dinner coz whatever I eat, I vomit. I drink water, I vomit! In the end, my friend had to carry me all the way to my room coz I can't even stand. I missed out the after party at Hollywood. My roomies all went and I was left alone sleeping.

Phuket's nice. I can't say much about how much I enjoyed the place coz I got sick the second day. Didn't go for their island hopping tour. Didn't get the chance to roam around so much and visit other places. Well, all in all, I think Phuket is nice and much more enjoyable if you'll have 4day or 5days of stay.

As for my trip, the only day we had as free and easy was when we arrived on our first day and before 5pm on day 2. Third day we had to leave at 10am.

I will definitely go back to Phuket some day and enjoy myself.

Although, on my latest trip to Thailand, I went to Krabi with my friends and I say I enjoyed myself so much on that trip. And we went on a 2 days island hopping. Plus we met this really cool tour guide. His name is Alex. We call him Bob Marley coz he wore that reggae cap and he does look like with mixed blood. Anyways, that'll be on my next blog.

Thanks for reading! Please do leave a comment or suggestions on this blog if you think that this blog is helpful and or for any places I've missed out while I was in Phuket. Maybe I'll go back there and check it out.

SINGAPORE

Hello my Nomad Traveller friends!

Once in a while I need to have a getaway and explore other places, experience other cultures, and meet different people. I love to travel very much! At a very young age, I was already traveling with the company of my relatives. And every summer is a wanderlust!

To kick off this travel blog, let me start off with SINGAPORE!

Yes! The city of Merlion! The country of Singapore is located at the Southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. This vibrant city composes of multi-cultural people who come together as one. People living in Singapore are called "Singaporeans". There are 4 official languages in Singapore. There's English, Mandarin, Malay & Tamil. You will hear all this 4 official languages in the train stations reminding people of things to do and not to do while on the train or in the stations.

Anyways, enough said about the background and history of Singapore. I'm sure you can all Google that.

So!! When traveling to Singapore bear in mind that YOU ARE NOT IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY, RESPECT THEIR LAWS. Singapore is also known as the "FINE CITY" for their massive fines on things such as "no spitting" "no littering" "no smoking" and so on. So be very careful about the DON'T when visiting Singapore. Other than that everything is fine!

Most travelers will arrive in Singapore via plane. Thus your touchdown will be at Changi International Airport. They have 3 terminals. So depending on which country you are from, your terminals may vary BUT you will all arrive in the same airport.

MODE OF TRANSPORTATION

Upon arrival, you have 3 choices of going to your accommodations.

1. Take a BUS! Public bus 36 will take you to the city. First bus leaves at 6:00am and last bus leaves at midnight.Single fare will cost you SGD 2:00 and estimated travel time will be 1 hour. But this options is not recommendable as, well, it's your first time here! You certainly don't have a clue where to alight! You might end up lost. But if you're looking for a kickoff tour of Singapore, then take the bus!

P.S Please pay exact fare. They do not give change! So just prepare some coins or SGD 2.00 for the bus fare. If you will drop SGD 10.00, then wave goodbye to your change.

Buses are located at basement bus bays at Terminals 1, 2, & 3.

2. MRT. Train services will start at 5:26am (Mon-Sat) & 5:54am (Sun & PH) from Changi MRT Station. Alight at Tanah Merah station which is only 2 stops and take your train westbound to the city. Last train leaving Changi Airport which allows transfer to Westbound at Tanah Merah is at 11:18pm. Don't miss this if you don't want to pay so much for a cab.

This option is the most convenient and economical way to travel. Estimated travel time from Changi Airport to city is 30 min. at SGD 1.63

3. TAXI. There is an abundance of taxi's in Changi Airport Arrival hall. Estimated cost from Changi Airport to City is SGD 20.00 - SGD 38.00 Travel time is approximately 30 min. depending on your hotel's accommodation.

Take note:

SGD 5.00 surcharge applied from 5:00pm to 12:00am (Fri.-Sun.)
SGD 3.00 airport surcharge at all other time.
Midnight surcharge of 50% on total fare from 12:01am to 6:00am daily.

Check this links below for transportation guide:

KNOCK OFF WHERE???

ON A BUDGET MODE

There are lots of hostels around Singapore. Make sure before coming here to book your hostels. Most hostels are located just around the city. I recommend you THE INN CROWD. You can get a dorm bed to sleep for as low as SGD 20.00/night or twin room with 2 single bed for SGD 59.00/night. Please click the link provided.

Stayed here with my bf for 5 days. The rooms were clean. They provide breakfast. It's a hostel so expect different nationalities. You have an option of sleeping in the dorm together with the rest of the travelers or you can take 1 room for yourself. Up to your preference. It is safe. They do provide lockers, computers to use, wifi, kitchen (you can cook your own but please wash the plate after use), books to read if you're bored, and best of all, 7-11 is just beside the hostel! You can buy your own beer or any alcohol, store in their fridge just write on a piece of paper attached to your stuff your name & your check-out date. People wont touch your stuff.  Plus they provide FREE TOURS!!! That was just awesome! Though we didn't go for the tour coz I had other plans. But between you and me, it's really fun to stay in a hostel and get to meet people from different walks of life!
COMFY MODE

THE SULTAN SINGAPORE is located at Kampong Glam and you are just a walk away from the hidden sights of Singapore. Rates range from SGD 160++ onwards.

For those who can slightly afford a more comfortable stay, good for you! Stayed in The Sultan for 1 night with my friends and their staff was just awesome! They were so friendly and helpful. We took The Loft room. It was a huge space. Comfy and so homely. The bed was nice! The place was beautiful. But one thing was that the location was kinda somewhere not so popular so it was pretty much hard for us. We had to take cab to and from the hotel.
PRIMA DONNA MODE

For those upscale and ultra comfort travelers you can go to MARINA BAY SANDS and get to lounge at the hotel's famous Infinity Pool. Rates ranges from SGD 499.00++ onwards. Maybe just check-in here for one night. Make sure to take lots of photos while you're at Skypark!

But honestly, when you travel to other places, you don't really stay in the hotel the entire day! So accommodations wise, go for a comfy bed and that's all you need for a good night's sleep.

A MUST TRY!!!

Let's talk about food. When in Singapore, Chili Crab or Pepper Crab is a must try! Chicken Rice, Laksa, Kway Teow and Prata! I personally LOVE CHEESE PRATA!!! There are other gastronomic food to savour too! McDonalds, KFC's and such are available in your country so please when going to other places try the countrie(s) cuisines.. And don't forget to try the SGD 1.00 ICE CREAM!!! I Love that ice cream! I always order the Sweetcorn flavor! And since you are in Singapore, try their signature cocktail "SINGAPORE SLING". Ask for the bartender in the bar. It's Gin based by the way..

There are a lot places to eat. KOPITIAM in Singapore is everywhere. It's their food court. You can find whatever you want to eat there. From western, to chinese, japanese, thai, vietnamese, filipino and whatever they have to offer. Rates for Kopitiam dinner may vary from SGD 3.00 onwards. Drinks from SGD 1.50 onwards.

Anywhere you stay in Singapore, you'll be sure to find a mall to hang around and eat too. Restaurants and bars too.

For food go and have dinner at MAKANSUTRA GLUTTONS BAY. From there take a stroll and see the beautiful structures of Marina Bay. At night you will see the laser show from Marina Bay Sands. Alternatively you can go to NEWTON HAWKER CENTRE located at Newton Circus. Try JUMBO SEAFOOD's Chili Crab or Pepper Crab or you can go to the Geylang area for some Chili/Pepper Crabs and other chinese cuisines. There's one Chinese stall in Geylang called GEYLANG DIMSUM 126, the dimsums and other stuffs ohhh soooo delicious!
The SGD 1.00 ice cream. Choose from cup/wafers/bread.

POP IN.. Places to visit.

Singapore has got not much to offer when it comes to nature so what they did was to develop an island which is now famously called: SENTOSA ISLAND.. For an entrance fee of SGD 3.00 you can tour the entire Sentosa Island and lounge under the sun, do some tanning and water sport activities such as kayaking and the likes. But due to limited space, they do not offer jet ski and parasailing activities. Go to the famed Siloso Beach. If you're here on the second Saturday of December be prepared for a "from dusk to dawn" ZOUK OUT BEACH PARTY held every year at Siloso Beach. It's a one day event by Zouk Club where by they bring the party to the sands together with international dj's, booze and grub.

There are many things that you can do in Sentosa like the Luge ride, the Fort Siloso, Sky Tower, Songs of the Sea, Sentosa 4D max and more.

While at Sentosa, head down to UNIVERSAL STUDIO SINGAPORE for SGD 74.00 you can explore and ride all day long of what USS has to offer.

Visit ADVENTURE COVE for some aquatic adventure SGD 29.00 (non-peak) SGD 33.00 (peak).

Visit S.E.A AQUARIUM the world's largest aquarium accredited by Guiness World Records for SGD 33.00.

Visit NATIONAL MUSEUM SINGAPORE and learn more about Singapore's history.

Well, basically, walking is the best way to do some sightseeing. Ofcourse some places are quite far from the city thus MRT or buses are your options. If you can pay extra, take a cab.

Okays. So here's my suggested itinerary.

Day 0. -Arrival Singapore (some flight may arrive past 12am. Check with your booked hotel whether you can check-in early. As for those who will be staying in hostels, they have 24hrs F.O but again do inform them of your arrival time.)

Day 1. -Universal Studio Singapore. (Whole day) It's gonna be a whole day event. The theme park is quite huge. I suggest before you go to USS, fill your tummies first. Of course, USS do sell food and drinks, but can be a tad bit pricey. Bring water as well. All those rides and the heat of the sun is gonna drain you. And may I suggest that if you wanna go to USS, go on weekdays. Less crowd. Less queue for the rides. At the end of the day, you'll be exhausted and you just want to crash down your bed.

Day 2. -S.E.A Aquarium/Adventure Cove. Both is located in the Sentosa Island.. Head to S.E.A Aquarium in the morning. Adventure Cove in the afternoon. You will be dead tired by the end of the day.

Day 3. -Take a walk. Stroll around. My bf & I, we started from Chinatown. Strolled passing through Club Street, Raffles Quay, Boat Quay and finally Marina Bay. It was a long walk! Tired. But the beauty of it was, you get to see the place. Don't worry, you'll definitely stop by for photos most of the time. Rest a while when you reach the Boat Quay area and snap some photos by the Singapore River. Head over to Gluttonsbay Makansutra for lunch or late lunch perhaps. After your Nomadic Walk, if you still have the energy, head down to Orchard. Basically, Orchard is the shopping destination. Everywhere you turn is malls, malls and malls. Take your pick from Tangs, ION, Lucky Plaza, Takashimaya, Somerset 313 and so many more! And while you're at Orchard, head down to Emerald Hill Road and grab some drinks! In the middle of the shopping area, E.H is where you will find over a million dollars worth of colonial property. Once you've had your fill. Go back to your hotel and rest. IF you still have the energy, (then I salute you) head over to Clarke Quay for some nightlife and knock yourself out for one night. Enjoy!

Day 4. - In the morning, head over to Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Flyer. You can also do this at night. The reason is, the view will be different from morning and night. From there, just walk around towards the famed Marina Bay Sands hotel. Of course, take your picture together with this iconic building. The Helix Bridge is fabulous at night time though. In the late afternoon, head down to Singapore Night Safari. Explore. Be careful, when taking photos be sure to disarm your camera flash. Animals are sensitive to flashes. I'm pretty pretty sure you guys will be tired by the end of the night. So head back to your hotel and take a good rest.

Day 5. -Maybe you're tired by this day. So today, maybe you just wanna relax and lounge somewhere peaceful. By this day perhaps you just wanna chill at Sentosa Island. Explore the island if you want. Ride the luge. Live the beach life!

Day 6. -If this is your last day then perhaps you wanna get some last minute shopping done or what. Head down to Bugis. Just remember, DON'T BE LATE FOR YOUR FLIGHT...

**Check with your local money changer or maybe over the bank or check online the rate between SGD and your country's currency.
